Komab is growing and looking for an automation engineer! About the Company

Komab is an engineering consulting company with the goal of helping our clients from idea to delivery, whether it involves smaller interventions or comprehensive commitments. We have extensive experience in mechanics, electrical/automation, and facilities for the mining, wood, and steel industries. We understand how these industries operate and the demands placed on technology and machinery, which allows us to both lead projects and deliver the technology.

Here you will find the locally owned company, consisting of 15 employees, located in new and fresh offices in central Skellefteå. As consultants, we also spend a significant amount of our time out with clients. We believe in the team before the individual. The entire team meets regularly to review our project status, goals, and how we can continue to develop.

Your Responsibilities

As an automation engineer, your primary task is to develop solutions independently and in close collaboration with both your colleagues and the client. This includes programming control systems, some design work, and participation in commissioning at the client’s site. In other words, the work involves many internal and external contacts. Since a portion of your tasks will be at the client’s site, travel may be required, primarily regionally and locally.

Our clients have high demands for functionality and sustainability, which in turn places high demands on our ability to think innovatively and deliver quality solutions. Your Background/Attributes

We are looking for someone with knowledge in automation acquired through education and/or experience. It is beneficial if you have worked a few years as an automation engineer since the assignments vary in nature. If you also have experience in commissioning, that is highly meritorious!

The control systems commonly used by our clients are Siemens and ABB, so we prefer that you have knowledge of these. A driver's license (B) and very good English skills are required. If you can speak and write Swedish, it is an advantage as most of our clients are Swedish-speaking.

As a person, you are confident in your social skills, as you will represent the company to clients and partners in your role as a consultant. You are technical and curious with a strong internal drive. It comes naturally for you to take initiative, and you are motivated by being part of moving the company forward.
